Accessibility
Access, on screen and on site.
What we've built into this website, where we know it still falls short, and how accessibility shows up in the spaces we build.
Last updated September 1, 2026
The short version
- ✓
Every image on this site carries descriptive alternative text.
- ✓
The site honors your device's reduced-motion setting.
- ✓
We're working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA — we're not claiming we're there yet.
- ✓
If something here doesn't work for you, tell us and we'll fix it.
01
Our commitment
We build things people use. That standard shouldn't stop at the job site, so we want this website to work for everyone who comes to it — including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or a device that isn't a mouse and a large monitor.
We treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a box to check. This page describes where things genuinely stand today, including the parts we haven't finished.
02
What's built into this site
These are practices currently in place, not aspirations:
- ✓Descriptive alternative text on every photograph, written to describe the actual project shown rather than a generic label
- ✓Animation that respects your system's reduced-motion preference — page reveals, parallax, and hover effects all switch off automatically
- ✓Semantic page structure with real headings, lists, and landmarks, so screen readers can navigate by section
- ✓Form fields with properly associated labels, and validation errors announced to assistive technology
- ✓Decorative graphics hidden from screen readers so they don't clutter the reading experience
- ✓Menus and expandable sections built as real buttons that work with a keyboard and report their open or closed state
03
Where we know we fall short
We'd rather name the gaps than let you discover them. As of the date on this page:
- ✓There's no "skip to content" link yet, so keyboard users pass through the navigation on every page
- ✓Keyboard focus indicators rely on browser defaults in most places rather than a stronger custom style we've designed
- ✓This site has not had a formal third-party accessibility audit, so our assessment is our own
- ✓Content we don't control — such as reviews hosted on other platforms — follows those platforms' accessibility practices, not ours
These are on our list. If one of them is what's standing between you and the information you need, tell us and we'll prioritize it.
04
The standard we're working toward
We're using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our target. We are not claiming conformance with it today — that claim should follow an audit, not precede one.
As we close the gaps above and test more thoroughly, we'll update this page to reflect what's actually true at that point.
05
Accessible building, not just an accessible website
Accessibility is part of our construction work too, and it's worth saying plainly because it's the part we have the most experience with.
On projects, that has included:
- ✓Zero-threshold walk-in showers and bathroom layouts designed for easier daily use
- ✓ADA-compliant handrail and safety systems in commercial spaces
- ✓ADA-compliant restroom finishes and circulation paths built to local accessibility regulations
- ✓Layout and remodeling work aimed at improving comfort, access, and long-term usability at home
If you're planning a project with accessibility requirements — aging in place, mobility needs, or commercial code compliance — bring it up in the first conversation. It shapes the design, and it's much easier to plan for than to retrofit.
06
Tell us what isn't working
If you run into a barrier on this site — a page you can't navigate, an image whose description doesn't tell you enough, a form you can't complete — we want to hear about it. Specific reports help most: the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what device or assistive technology you were using.
We'll respond, and if you need information from a page that isn't working for you, we'll get it to you another way in the meantime. Nobody should have to fight a website to reach a builder.
